By subscribing to the Jorgensen Foundation platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Subscriptions are offered on a monthly or annual basis and grant you access to the platform's computational chemistry programs, cloud computing resources, and associated tools during the active subscription period.
Academic pricing is available to individuals affiliated with accredited universities, colleges, and non-profit research institutes. Your eligibility is determined automatically by your email domain at the time of registration. If your institution uses a non-standard domain, you must provide verification of your affiliation before academic pricing is applied. Academic subscriptions are priced at $49 per month (monthly plan) or $490 per year (annual plan), equivalent to ten months at the monthly rate.
Industry pricing applies to all subscribers who do not qualify for academic pricing. Industry subscriptions are priced at $199 per month (monthly plan) or $1,990 per year (annual plan). Industry subscribers receive priority queue access, a dedicated technical support contact, and API access for integration with internal pipelines in addition to all features included in the academic tier.
Subscriptions are billed in advance. Monthly subscriptions are billed on the same day each month. Annual subscriptions are billed once per year on the anniversary of the subscription start date. Payment is processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise the Jorgensen Foundation to charge your payment method on the applicable billing cycle. All prices are in US dollars and exclusive of any applicable taxes, which are your responsibility.
Each subscription is for a single named user. Sharing login credentials or allowing multiple individuals to access the platform under a single subscription is not permitted. Organisations requiring access for multiple users should contact us to discuss multi-seat arrangements.
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain full access to the platform until that date.
If you cancel a monthly subscription, your access continues until the end of the current monthly billing period. No partial-month refunds are issued. Your saved data, simulation inputs, and results remain accessible for 90 days after cancellation, after which they are permanently deleted.
If you cancel an annual subscription, your access continues until the end of the current annual term. We do not offer partial-year refunds on annual subscriptions. If you believe your circumstances warrant an exception, please contact us at info@jorgensenfoundation.org and we will consider your request at our discretion.
Refunds are not issued for unused subscription periods except where required by applicable consumer protection law. If you experience a technical failure that prevents you from using the platform for a sustained period and you have notified us promptly, we may issue a pro-rated credit at our discretion. We do not issue refunds for dissatisfaction with simulation results, as the accuracy of computational results depends on inputs and parameters outside our control.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account without notice if you violate these Terms of Service, in particular the Acceptable Use provisions in Section 3. In the event of termination for cause, no refund will be issued.
The Jorgensen Foundation platform provides access to scientific simulation software for legitimate research, educational, and commercial purposes in computational chemistry and related fields. By using the platform, you agree to the following acceptable use conditions.
If you publish research that uses the Jorgensen Foundation programs, you must cite the relevant primary references as specified on each program's page. You may acknowledge use of the Jorgensen Foundation cloud platform in your methods section but are not required to do so. You may not represent the programs as your own software or omit attribution in a manner that misleads readers about the origin of the computational methods used.
All programs made available through the Jorgensen Foundation platform — including BOSS, MCPRO, BOMB, FEP modules, OPLS force field parameter sets, and the Molecular Visualisation Suite — are and remain the sole intellectual property of the Jorgensen Foundation and, where applicable, the Jorgensen Research Group at Yale University. No subscription or use of the platform transfers any ownership, licence beyond access rights, or intellectual property rights to the subscriber.
Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the programs through the platform interface for the duration of your active subscription and solely for the purposes described in Section 3. This licence does not include the right to download, install, copy, or redistribute the programs or their source code.
You retain full ownership of the molecular structures, simulation inputs, and results you generate using the platform. The Jorgensen Foundation does not claim any intellectual property rights over your research data or scientific findings. We process your data solely to provide the service and do not use it for any other purpose without your explicit consent.
All text, graphics, documentation, and design elements on the Jorgensen Foundation website and platform are protected by copyright and may not be reproduced, distributed, or adapted without written permission, except where expressly permitted by applicable law.
The Jorgensen Foundation provides the platform and programs on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability of the platform or the scientific results produced by its programs.
Computational chemistry simulations are inherently approximate. The accuracy of results depends on force field parameters, simulation protocols, system preparation, and other factors that are outside our control. The Jorgensen Foundation makes no representations regarding the accuracy of any specific calculation or the suitability of any result for a particular purpose, including drug design, materials development, or any other commercial or regulatory application. You are solely responsible for interpreting and validating results before relying on them.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the Jorgensen Foundation, its directors, employees, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the platform or these Terms, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the total amount paid by you in the twelve months preceding the claim.
We aim to maintain high platform availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Planned maintenance, infrastructure updates, and events outside our control may result in temporary unavailability. We will provide advance notice of planned downtime where reasonably practicable.
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States of America, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the State of Connecticut, and you hereby consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
The platform is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the United States, you do so at your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws to the extent applicable. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Material changes will be communicated to subscribers by email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date of any change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you may cancel your subscription before the effective date without penalty.
Questions regarding these Terms of Service should be directed to info@jorgensenfoundation.org.
